Ok, you gotta be a little more specific than that. For starters, which campaign did you get, Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall? Which profession did you choose? How far are you in the game so far? Have you picked your secondary profession yet? This info would be nice that way I know what kind of situations you're probably gonna run into.

Well recruit, stand up straight. If we are going to turn you into a fighting machine we need a little more information. For instance what are you having trouble with. Are you looking for in game help, hoping to arrange a meet maybe. Looking for general info about the game ? These are all possibilities, but without a little more info from you, you probably wont generate much interest. Once you do, you'll be met with offers I am certain, I'll try to check back as well, so questions, or what have you, fly at it.

Hi welcome to the game. I suggest you get used to the interface and stuff, enjoy the new experience. If you have questions on a certain topic, you can find them here in the forums or visit www.guildwiki.org

Also you may try to hook up with some friendly people ingame and get your first contacts. They might help you out on some things. Don't bombard them with questions though, a big part of the fun is finding out stuff for yourself. Ofcourse when you're stuck or don't understand something, just ask someone.

Have fun

Sorry, :x. I got Prophecies, and I chose an Elementalist. I have Monk as a secondary profession. I've just been doing these little quests.. Nothing major, I think. I was just wondering if you just keep on doing quests to level up, or whatever. Or just go on with the story? I just want someone to play with, lol, basically.

Have you left Pre-Searing yet? Is everything still green and wonderful? If everything still is green and wonderful just do a few quests until you reach lvl 6-7, then go on and do the primary quests and you will get forward in the game with no problem at all. I would recommend that you explore a bit as well. Pre-Searing is great and once you left it, there is no turning back. Take the opportunity and learn the game mechanics there, since you´ll need all the experience. One good advice is to learn how to lure, choose your fights, be careful not to lure more than one mob at the time.

Once you get forward in the game you can play the whole game with just henchmen (stupid hencmen) or team up with other players, which is much more fun and easier. Don´t be afraid to ask ppl for advice or help, if you need it, but also, don´t be afraid to try missions with just henchmen, since all your set-backs will learn you what to do and what NOT to do. Oh, one more thing, never rush. Keep track of your health and your energy so that you don´t engage new enemies with any of those two low. If you rush in a party of other players you will soon find yourself heavily flamed...

Hope you´ll enjoy the game...

Alright, that's the info we need.

First of all, welcome to the game. Second, since you are new to the game, I would stay in newbie island (aka Pre-searing) until you feel very comfortable with the game and until around level 7 (that's around when I left). An elementalist/monk is a good combo because they can use the elementalist's potent magic along with monk's healing magic without worrying that much about energy. As an elementalist, the game is going to offer a lot of fire magic skills early on, but don't think that fire magic is the only good magic line for an elementalist. Later on, you will notice that there are skills particularly in air magic that are good as well. I guess I'm trying to say just keep an open mind and don't be afraid to experiment with different builds, even if it means spending a little money.

In terms of money, save up now because you'll be needing it later. Once you get out of pre-searing and advance to post-searing (if you havn't yet, you'll know when you do) get the armor in ascalon city, then don't bother with armor until MUCH later in the game, when you're about 2/3 of the way through. There, armor is exspensive, and you'll be glad you saved up. (When i first when through the game, I didn't save up that much and it took me a while to get the money needed, each piece of armor is 1.5k each plus a lot of materials) For an elementalist, the maximum armor you can get is 60, which is that armor that costs a lot to make. Try to avoid scams if possible, gw.gamewikis.org has a good list on common scams that people often try on new people. Also, keep in mind that Guild wars is meant to be a skill based game vs. an item based game. So if you don't have the best weapons, it won't really matter that much. (but make sure to get the highest armor you can, that is definatly important)

Some pretty important advice that will save you some money is be careful which skills you buy from the skill merchants you'll see later on. They let you buy skills, but some of the ones they offer can be gotten for free as a quest reward. Again, gw.gamewikis.org has a list of which skills are obtainable from a quest. The ones that aren't are the ones you should buy.

I can't really think of much else right now, I'm sure somebody else will fill in what I forgot. But, just remember that quests and missions are going to be your main form of leveling up, and you will probably get to level 20 (max level in the game) at a little less than half way through the story.
